Cogdel School Chengdu has officially launched its Four-College System: Muse, Harmony, Quest, and Vigor. These four colleges are not traditional activity groupings β they represent a comprehensive redesign of the student growth pathway for Grades 7 through 12. By integrating professional elective courses, ECA activities, project-based learning (PBL), academic competitions, university preparation, and social practice resources, each college provides students with a directional, coherent pathway to develop their interests into genuine expertise.
How the Colleges Work
In a traditional model, a student's elective courses, club activities, competition training, project outcomes, and real-world practice remain disconnected from one another. The Four-College System reorganizes these fragmented growth elements around each student's core interests. Using Grades 7-12 as a complete cycle, students progress through five stages: interest exploration, direction confirmation, deep accumulation, project output, and achievement showcasing β forming a continuous and coherent personal growth trajectory.

Focused on design, art, and new media creativity, Muse brings together students passionate about visual expression and content creation. Its core mission is "to give work a sense of craft, and to build a stage for creative expression." Through graphic design, visual storytelling, digital media production, portfolio development, and exhibitions, students develop demonstrable aesthetic judgment and creative output. Harmony β The Practice Ground for Critical Thinking & Social Connection
Focused on language expression, cultural literacy, and collaborative leadership, Harmony guides students to understand society and engage with the real world. Its core mission is "to learn expression, judgment, and collaboration in authentic social contexts." Its core mission is "to let evidence reach understanding." Vigor β The Arena for Academic Thinking & Competition

From Random Participation to Systematic Planning
In a traditional model, a student who signs up for an elective, joins a club, enters a competition, and completes a project is essentially navigating four disconnected experiences. The college system's value lies in unifying these scattered elements around a core interest direction. A Harmony student, for example, takes Economics as an elective, joins the Business Challenge Club, participates in enterprise visit PBL projects, and focuses university applications on business-related majors β these activities are no longer isolated checkboxes but mutually reinforcing building blocks on a single, coherent trajectory.
Student Growth Pathway
Grades 7-8 (Exploration): Initial exposure to all four directions; broad experimentation to discover genuine interests.
Grades 9-10 (Confirmation): Primary college selection; building directional clarity through professional electives and ECA activities; beginning deep accumulation.
Grades 11-12 (Output): Demonstrating professional depth and comprehensive competence through project outcomes, competition results, academic works, and university application materials.

Around each college's professional focus, Cogdel will introduce industry mentors, corporate partnerships, university academic resources, and international practice opportunities.
