Principal's Message
Amy Lu (Lu Kun)
Education: B.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Tsinghua University; MBA, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)
Career: Former aircraft design engineer at AVIC; former Investment Director
Principal Lu designed Cogdel around three education pain points:
A Future-Ready School -- Breaking the single assessment system. Cultivating irreplaceable abilities for the AI era. Replacing traditional report cards with the "8-Dimension Competency Portfolio."
A People-First School -- Connecting school with society. Through project-based learning, career exploration, the Investors' Classroom, and Career Fairs, students engage with how the real world operates while still in school.
A School That Cultivates Leaders -- Making soft skills development scientific rather than mystical. Tracking leadership growth by semester, recording every step of progress with data.
Three Education Pain Points
We Start from the Problems
Pain Point 1: Breaking the Single Assessment System
Traditional schools use written exam scores as the sole standard, which inherently undermines the confidence of at least 80% of students. Cogdel replaces traditional report cards with the "8-Dimension Competency Portfolio" -- every teacher becomes a "sensor" that discovers growth.
Pain Point 2: Connecting School with Society
Through project-based learning, career exploration starting in Grade 6, the Investors' Classroom, and Career Fairs, we broaden students' horizons and prevent them from focusing solely on "how to pass exams."
Pain Point 3: Making Soft Skills Development Scientific
Using engineering logic, we transform soft skills development from a black box into something trackable, assessable, and manageable -- turning it into a science.
8-Dimension Competency
Cogdel's proprietary "8-Dimension Competency Portfolio" covers eight core dimensions of student development:
Global Vision
Global perspective and cross-cultural understanding
Learning Ability
Self-directed learning, critical thinking, and knowledge transfer
Physical & Mental Health
Physical strength and psychological resilience
Intrinsic Motivation
Genuine passion for learning and desire for growth
Innovation
Courage to experiment and talent for creation
Leadership
Making decisions and leading teams to solve problems in complex situations
Collaboration
Listening, communicating, compromising, and leading
Responsibility
Caring about social issues and being willing to take on responsibility
In a Nutshell
Using engineering logic to design future-ready education. At Cogdel, every child's growth is seen, recorded, and cherished.
